Cathi Bond is a Canadian new media pioneer and accomplished national broadcaster. She has written for TV and covers a wide variety of material for print and new media.

Many Canadians know Cathi from CBC Radio’s DNTO, as the “Video Diva,” a wisecracking movie reviewer, who delivered smart, yet entertaining weekly content. She has also written and broadcasted for CBC Radio’s Metro Morning, The Arts Tonight, and Spark. Television credits include Durham County, TSN, YTV, CBC’s Strange Empire and Showcase’s Bliss. Cathi has been a podcaster since the introduction of the medium in 2005 and continues to broadcast The Sniffer with CBC’s Nora Young and is well versed in the landscape of new media.

Cathi is the author of the critically acclaimed novel, Night Town which was published by Iguana Books in 2013.

She has also contributed a published piece of short fiction in Tel Talk a public arts installation.

Most recently, Cathi was featured in Coach House Press’s Any Other Way, a queer anthology. Her story Dyke Fight at the Blue Jay is currently on university reading lists.

Cathi will be part of a series of historical walks for the Church and Wellesley Business Association. In October 2022, she will conduct a stroll through downtown Toronto showing residents the evolution of the lesbian scene in the city’s Gay Village from the perspective of a person who continues to live it.
